This program continues our commitment to addressing and mitigating gender-based violence through informed discourse, policy analysis, and community engagement. Building on the foundation laid by our previous cohorts—Ending Gender-based Violence: Awareness of Policies & Governance and Ending Violence Against Women: Awareness of Laws and Policies in India—this cohort delves deeper into the multifaceted challenges that impede progress in eradicating gender-based violence. It also explores the responses required from various stakeholders, including governments, civil society, and international organizations. In light of the current situation, where cases of gender-based violence remain alarmingly high despite existing laws and policies, this program is more relevant than ever. The recent surge in reported incidents has highlighted the urgent need for a more robust response and a re-examination of the effectiveness of current measures. This cohort will provide participants with a platform to analyze these pressing issues, discuss the barriers to effective intervention, and explore innovative strategies that can be employed to overcome these challenges. Through expert-led sessions, case studies, and collaborative discussions, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the current landscape of gender-based violence in India, the systemic obstacles to its eradication, and the role of various stakeholders in crafting a more effective response.
