Visiting Senior Fellow

Dr Binti Singh is a Visiting Senior Fellow at IMPRI. She is an urban sociologist and holds a Ph.D. (in urban studies) and an M.Phil. (in Planning and Development) from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Bombay), Mumbai, India. She is currently Dean, Research and Academic Development at KRVIA, Mumbai. She is engaged in diverse international research programs with universities like the Cambridge Centre for Smart Infrastructure and Construction, University of Cambridge, UK and ITC University of Twente, Enschede, Netherlands and Danube University Krems, Austria. She also supervises Masters’ and PhD students in various international universities including Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and University of Virginia, USA. Her research engages with questions intersecting technology, design, culture and climate. Her fourth book How Will India Fix Her Urban Future? was published in 2020. On 12 January 2023, she received an award from the Governor of Maharashtra, India, for her contribution to academic research in cultural sustainability. Her seventh book Cities of India Changes and Choices was launched by Honourable Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, Shri Nitin Gadkari ji in the 2nd Sustainability Summit on the 12th April 2023.”
