Dr Dhananjay Kakade is Visiting Senior Fellow at IMPRI. Dhananjay Kakade has more than 20 years of professional experience within the development sector, spanning both global and national levels. Throughout his career, he has assumed a diverse array of roles, including trainer, researcher, campaigner, manager, and grant-maker. His primary areas of focus have revolved around social accountability, governance, and health rights. Additionally, his areas of interest include health narratives, digital health, and accountability. Dhananjay has actively collaborated with civil society organizations and funding agencies to champion the protection of health as a human right and to promote people’s participation in health-related decision-making processes. Between 2014 and 2020, Dhananjay worked with reputable international organizations such as Oxfam India and Open Society Foundations on health issues. Prior to this, from 2014 to 2015, he served as the Executive Director at the National Centre for Advocacy Studies in India. For an extended period, Dhananjay was with SATHI-Pune, where he held positions as a Senior Program Officer and Associate Coordinator from 2004 to 2012. Currently, he serves as the Director at SATHI-Pune. Dhananjay holds a postgraduate degree in communication studies and a Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery degree from Pune University.
