About the Course:

Course Contents: Exploratory data analysis and extensive hands-on training on advanced-level regression analysis with categorical independent and dependent variables regression models (Dummy variable & Logit/Probit). These sessions will be done using Eviews and lay stress on data analysis applications for various multi-disciplinary research. Further, doubts clearing and discussions will be done.

The videos of the session will be provided till December 2022, along with datasets for learning and practice.

Nilanjan Banik currently works as a Professor at Mahindra University, India. He is also a Visiting Consultant at IMPRI and an Academic Consultant with Geneva Network, United Kingdom; and a Senior Consultant with Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, South Korea. He earned his Phd in Economics from Utah State University, USA, and a Master of Economics from Delhi School of Economics, India. Prof. Banik focuses on applying econometrics to issues relating to international trade and Development economics. He has published in several peer-reviewed journals, some of them ‘A’ categories, such as the International Review of Economics and Finance, Empirical Economics, Review of Development Economics, etc.

Additionally, he has written a book on the Indian macroeconomy which is published from Sage. He also has the distinction of writing editorials for all major English dailies in India, and abroad including that of the Wall Street Journal, Business Times, and Huffington Post.  He has consulting experience with major multilateral agencies such as Asian Development Bank, UNESCAP, WTO, ICRIER, RIS, CEPR, etc. He features regularly in various talk shows on topical issues on major English TV News channels in India.
