Dr. Takahiro Sato is a professor of the Research Institute for Economics and Business Administration (RIEB) at Kobe University. His areas of research are development economics and studies on the Indian economy. He has authored a lot of books and articles which have appeared in Journal of Policy Modeling, Economics of Governance, Oxford Development Studies, Economic and Political Weekly, Journal of Asian Economics, and European Journal of Development Research. In 2007 he received the first JASAS Award from the Japanese Association for South Asian Studies.
