Renu Kohli is an economist specializing in Indian macroeconomic and financial sector issues, on which she researches, consults and contributes regular Opeds. A former staff member of the RBI and IMF, her researched areas include capital account liberalization, exchange rate management, monetary policy, financial sector reforms and international economic policy coordination.

She has published in refereed journals such as Review of Development Economics, Journal of Development Studies, Journal of Asian Economics, and has authored India’s Experience with Capital Account Liberalization (Oxford University Press, 2005, 2008, 2012, 2016). She also serves as Independent Director, NCML Finance Private Limited (NFIN) and Member, CII Economic Affairs Council. She is based in New Delhi.
