V R Raman
Mr V R Raman, Head of Policy, WaterAid India

V R Raman is a public policy expert with close to three decades of experience in multiple development sectors such as WASH, health, nutrition and education. He has been into research, advocacy, policy making and programming on critical development issues from grassroots levels to national level- working with civil society groups, research as well as academic institutions and government organisations. He has a unique association with various flagship missions in India, such as the Jal Jeevan Mission, Swachh Bharat Mission, National Health Mission and National Literacy Mission. Health, dignity, safety of sanitation workers, including advocating for systems and policies for ensuring the same, has been his focus during most of his engagements.

Raman did his public health studies and research from the School of Public Health, University of Western Cape, South Africa.

Currently Raman is Head of Policy with WaterAid India. He has been leading several important research and advocacy initiatives on important water, sanitation and hygiene initiatives under this capacity. He is also the National Convenor of the Public Health Resource Network.
