Public policy is at the heart of shaping societies, addressing inequalities, and steering development. It is both a field of knowledge and a space of action, requiring not only theoretical grounding but also practical wisdom and professional pathways to drive meaningful change.

The Public Policy, Practice & Careers program by IMPRI is a two-day immersive online certificate training designed to equip participants with a holistic understanding of how policy works in the real world and how they can build impactful careers in this evolving domain. Bringing together leading experts, practitioners, and career mentors, the program creates a unique platform to learn, interact, and network.

Participants will engage with insights on the challenges and opportunities of translating policy into practice, while also exploring the diverse career trajectories available in the policy ecosystem—ranging from government and academia to think tanks, development organizations, and the private sector.

More than a training program, this initiative is a space to reflect on what it means to work at the intersection of governance, development, and social change, and how individuals can position themselves to contribute effectively. By combining knowledge, practice, and career guidance, it aims to empower the next generation of policy thinkers and doers.

This program is designed for:

• Civil society members, development workers, and government aspirants eager to enhance their understanding of practice and career opportunities in policy
• University students and researchers exploring careers in public policy
• Young professionals seeking to transition into policy, governance, or development sectors
• Early- and mid-career practitioners aiming to strengthen their policy knowledge

Participants would:

• Learn from globally and nationally renowned thematic experts and practitioners
• Gain first-hand insights and networking opportunities
• Get course outline and reading list from the experts for learning
• Get access to session videos for 15 days
• Receive a certificate of completion
• Have the opportunity to publish their essays on the IMPRI Insights Blog, which features the articles of eminent people from around the globe.
• In addition to this, participants will also have access to the carefully curated Event Outcome Report, highlighting the critically engaging deliberations of each session. It will be freely available to download at https://books.impriindia.com/. They can even access other Event Outcome Reports from the site.
• A participant list and their details will be added to the website.

Upon successful completion of the program, each participant will be awarded a Certificate of Completion.
