Anti-caste Theories on Gender

The session was organized as part of “Beyond Binaries: Understanding Sexual Identities and Queer Rights Issues in India”, – a Five-Day Immersive Online Certificate Training Course by the Gender Impacts Study Centre (GISC) on behalf of IMPRI Impact and Policy Research Institute of India on the instance of Pride Month.

The session began with Samriddhi inviting Aroh Akunth, a writer and performer, to discuss anti-caste theories on gender equity. Aroh expressed gratitude for the opportunity, as the session connected him with his professors and provided a platform to share his insights.

Healthcare of Transgender and Non-Binary Persons

An Online International Summer School Program | A five-day immersive online certificate training course on Beyond Binaries: Understanding Sexual Identities and Queer Rights Issues in India was launched by #IMPRI Gender Impact Studies Center (GISC), IMPRI Impact and Policy Research Institute in honour of pride month.

On day two of this extremely immersive and illuminating session, Dr Aqsa Shaikh led an interactive discussion on the problems and scope of Healthcare for Transgender and Non-Binary Persons in India. Dr Aqsa Shaikh is an associate professor of community management at Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, New Delhi.

Politics, Ethics, and Emotions in New India

An enlightening and insightful book discussion on Politics, Ethics, and Emotions in New India written by Dr Ajay Gudavarthy was organized by the Center for Human Dignity and Development, IMPRI as a part of the IMPRI #WebPolicy talk series on 9th May 2023. The session was chaired by Ms Chinki Sinha, author, and editor at Outlook India. The book discussion was presided by the distinguished panelists, Dr Ajay Gudavarthy, author of the book and an Associate Professor at the Centre for Political Studies, JNU; Mr Tushar Gandhi, president, Mahatma Gandhi Foundation; Dr Hilal Ahmed, Associate professor, Center for the Study of Developing Societies, New Delhi; Mr Shubham Sharma, PhD scholar, University of Connecticut.
