About

The Feminist Foreign Policy Fellowship (FFPF) returns with Cohort 2.0, an innovative program jointly organized by Center for International Relations and Strategic Studies; and the Gender Impact Studies Center (GISC), IMPRI Impact and Policy Research Institute, New Delhi. This fellowship is dedicated to advancing the concept of Feminist Foreign Policy (FFP) in both the Indian and global contexts.

FFP reimagines foreign policy through the lens of gender justice and equality, rooted in humanitarian principles, and committed to dismantling oppressive global power structures. In a field often dominated by hierarchical power dynamics, FFP aims to reshape international relations by ensuring that the voices, experiences, and perspectives of women and marginalized groups are central to policy discussions.

India, with its diverse social fabric and persistent gender disparities, provides a unique setting to explore and potentially integrate FFP principles. By examining India’s context, this fellowship aspires to bring new insights to Indian foreign policy while contributing to the broader conversation on how democratic nations, especially those with entrenched patriarchal norms, can adopt and benefit from FFP.

FFPF Cohort 2.0 offers emerging leaders, scholars, and practitioners an immersive opportunity to engage with both the theoretical and practical aspects of FFP. Participants will contribute to impactful discussions, research, and initiatives that aim to promote a more just, inclusive, and equitable global order.

Creative Project

As a part of the Feminist Foreign Policy Fellowship (FFPF), participants have the unique opportunity to contribute as individual chapter authors in a special edition of IMPRI Books. This project allows fellows to deeply engage with critical issues related to Feminist Foreign Policy, exploring how gender justice can reshape international relations and global diplomacy. Participants can choose topics within the broader FFP framework, such as integrating feminist principles into foreign policy, the intersection of gender and security, the role of women in peacebuilding, deconstructing patriarchal structures in international organizations, or India’s potential adoption of FFP strategies.

Fellows are encouraged to present their creative projects through various mediums—visual, aural, or narrative-enabling them to express their research in innovative and impactful ways.

Please note: Fellows are required to submit a research article, which may include multimedia elements for the anthology, and present their work in one of the aforementioned formats on the designated presentation dates.
