About
India’s public health landscape is undergoing a significant transformation, driven by rapid urbanization, demographic shifts, changing disease patterns, and evolving health priorities. While the country has made remarkable progress through initiatives such as Ayushman Bharat, the National Health Mission, expanded immunization programmes, and digital health initiatives under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, persistent challenges—including non-communicable diseases, antimicrobial resistance, mental health, air pollution, climate-related health risks, maternal and child health disparities, and unequal access to quality healthcare—continue to demand robust and evidence-informed public health policies. Strengthening public health today requires not only improving healthcare delivery but also designing policies that are equitable, preventive, resilient, and responsive to the needs of diverse populations.
This program explores the intersection of public health and public policy, examining how evidence, governance, financing, regulation, and multi-sectoral collaboration shape health outcomes at the local, national, and global levels. It provides a comprehensive understanding of the policy processes that influence disease prevention, health promotion, health systems strengthening, environmental and occupational health, digital health, pandemic preparedness, and universal health coverage. By bringing together leading experts from academia, government, healthcare institutions, and the development sector, the program fosters informed dialogue on contemporary public health challenges and equips participants with the knowledge needed to understand, analyse, and contribute to policies that can build a healthier, more resilient, and inclusive India.
For Whom
Students, researchers, healthcare professionals, public health practitioners, policymakers, government officials, development and NGO professionals, academicians, and individuals interested in public health, health policy, healthcare management, epidemiology, and health systems. The program is ideal for anyone seeking to strengthen their understanding of contemporary public health challenges and policy in India and beyond.
