About
The Gender Impact Studies Center (GISC) at the IMPRI Impact and Policy Research Institute, New Delhi, invites you to the second cohort of its highly acclaimed online national summer school certificate training course on Women’s Sexual and Reproductive Health.
Building on the success of the first cohort, this three-day immersive program brings together experts, scholars, and practitioners to delve into the intersections of gender, health, law, and policy. The theme for this cohort, Bodies, Rights & Care, centers on the lived realities, rights-based frameworks, and health justice concerns around women’s sexual and reproductive health in India. Through interactive lectures and critical discussions, the course will explore vital issues including maternal health, abortion laws, reproductive tract infections, menopause, and assisted reproduction—addressing the systemic challenges and social taboos that shape women’s health outcomes.
At a time when conversations around bodily autonomy and reproductive rights are both urgent and contested, a program like this plays a crucial role in fostering awareness, dismantling stigma, and promoting inclusive, evidence-based approaches to healthcare. It provides a much-needed platform for learning and unlearning, empowering participants to engage with policy and practice through a feminist and rights-based lens.
The program aims to equip participants with a nuanced understanding of how policy, medical practice, and societal norms intersect in shaping access to and quality of reproductive healthcare. With sessions led by leading experts, the course promises to foster critical thinking and informed advocacy among students, professionals, and changemakers committed to advancing gender and health equity.
