About
The IMPRI Gender Impact Studies Center (GISC), IMPRI Impact and Policy Research Institute, New Delhi, invites you to #WebPolicyLearning for a Special Session on the Occasion of International Women’s Day 2025. This initiative, part of the YWLPPF Young Women Leaders in Public Policy Fellowship – Cohort 2.0, aims to celebrate the resilience, contributions, and leadership of women while fostering discussions on advancing gender equality.
International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global observance that highlights the achievements of women and underscores the ongoing struggles for gender justice. Rooted in history, IWD serves as a reminder of the collective efforts of women’s movements in advocating for equal rights, peace, and development. The 2025 UN theme, “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment,” reinforces the need for inclusive policies and systemic change to ensure that no one is left behind in the pursuit of gender justice.
This session will delve into the historical and contemporary struggles of women for equality, peace, and development, shedding light on how collective action has shaped policy and societal change. Additionally, the discussion will focus on strategies for transformative change, exploring ways to strengthen gender-responsive policies, institutional frameworks, and grassroots movements to create a more just and equitable society.
Through this engagement, we seek to inspire young leaders, practitioners, and scholars to contribute meaningfully to gender-focused public policy and advocacy, ensuring that the momentum for women’s rights and empowerment continues to grow.
