About

The #IMPRI Center for Environment, Climate Change, and Sustainable Development (CECCSD), New Delhi, under its flagship #WebPolicyLearning initiative, is pleased to host a Special Session on the occasion of World Environment Day 2025. This event is part of the ongoing Environment Policy and Action Youth Fellowship (EPAYF) – Cohort 2.0, a program committed to nurturing informed and action-oriented youth leaders in the field of environmental policy and sustainability.

This year’s World Environment Day theme at IMPRI focuses on deepening awareness and engagement around two critical environmental issues—wildlife conservation and urban waste management. The session features a keynote address by Dr. Ravi Chellam, a leading wildlife biologist and conservation policy expert, who will speak on “Wildlife Conservation in India: Lessons from the Field and the Policy Table.” This will be followed by a screening of the short film “Waste and the City,” curated and presented by Ms. Karishma Rao and Mr. Vishwesh S Prasad, which explores the complexities of waste management in urban India. The session aims to offer participants both scientific insight and creative storytelling as tools for environmental action and policy thinking.
