One of India’s finest Prime Ministers (PMs) Atal Bihari Vajpayee is remembered for his leadership in shaping India’s engagements with the Southeast Asia. Several path-breaking decisions taken by him laid a solid foundation for Asean-India relations. Two of such initiatives are worth noting.
Riding on the success of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul Gandhi visited the US recently where he addressed several meetings including a gathering of the Indian community in New York on June 4. Earlier he had addressed a similar gathering of the Indian diaspora in London in March this year. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has just returned from his visit to Australia where he addressed a gathering of the Indian community in Sydney on May 23, and he is slated to be in the US in the last week of June where several programmes involving the Indian community have been planned.
Chairing the second National Conference of Chief Secretaries in Delhi on the 6th and 7th of January 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the launch of the Aspirational Block Programme throughout India. With a special emphasis on the "India-First Approach", the programme aims at developing the most backward blocks of the country identified based on a variety of factors as recognised by NITI Aayog.

The online gaming industry has been growing exponentially in the past few years. The main reason was the emergence of COVID-19, which forced many people to resort to online gaming for relieving stress. Moreover, smartphone affordability, low cost-high speed internet and easy access have further contributed to the spike. Out of all Asian countries, India is growing rapidly to be amongst the major contributors to this industry, providing a source of income to many. However, just like every coin has two sides, the online gaming industry is also not void of its negatives.
It is not unusual for construction workers excavating sites to stumble on ruins or even dinosaur fossils in certain parts of the world. In India, excavation of construction sites is likely to throw up the bones of infrastructure companies and non-banking finance companies (NBFCs) that financed them, which were nearly driven to extinction during the pandemic.
