Through this blog, I shared my insights from creative ethnographic research, which documents the everyday leadership of Gadiya Lohar women in Bareilly. Traditionally nomadic blacksmiths, the Gadiya Lohars are now settled in roadside clusters, living precarious lives with little access to clean water, sanitation, housing, or education.
The International Science and Technology (S&T) Cooperation Policy is an effort set forth by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) to build India’s research partnerships worldwide and to enhance innovation capabilities. The policy is implemented through the International Cooperation (IC) Division that works towards bilateral, multilateral, and thematic collaborations, and unites science with diplomacy to further improve the access to higher-end technologies. The Ganga River is revered as a sacred river by most Indians. It is considered to be the lifeline of India, supporting more than 40% of India’s population. Thus, the health of the river is hugely significant for the whole nation. Taking it into consideration, the Government of India launched an integrated conservation mission for restoring the National River in 2014-15, known as the Namami Gange Programme (NGP).
