Agnipath Yojana (2022): Transforming Military Recruitment in India

The Agnipath Yojana, launched on June 14 2022, by the Government of India, marks a significant shift in the recruitment and human resource management of the Indian Armed Forces ( Hooda, D.S., 2022). This scheme addresses the structural issues such as the increasing pension liabilities, the aging of the military and the need for a technologically adept defence force.

Support for Marginalized Individuals for Livelihood and Enterprise (SMILE) Scheme, 2022

Ministry launched the scheme SMILE- Support for Marginalized Individuals for Livelihood and Enterprise in February 2022. Under this umbrella scheme, members of the transgender community and persons engaged in the act of begging were targeted, with a focus on providing rehabilitation, medical facilities, education, safe housing, and skill development.

National Centre for Coastal Research (NCCR), 2018: Advancing India’s Coastal Governance and Science

In response to these types of needs, the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) established the National Centre for Coastal Research (NCCR) in 2018, which replaced the earlier Integrated Coastal and Marine Area Management (ICMAM) Project Directorate. NCCR provides a higher level of ambition and a larger remit; it is meant to provide long-term scientific knowledge into changes happening on India's coastline.

Central Public Health and Environmental Engineering Organisation (CPHEEO), 1966

The Central Public Health and Environmental Engineering Organisation (CPHEEO), established under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India is the nodal technical organization responsible for policy, guidelines and standards related to urban water supply, sanitation and environmental engineering. CPHEEO was set up in 1966 and continues to emphasize the importance of urban local bodies in the promotion of public health through improvements in water supply, sanitation and waste management.

One-Stop Centre (2015): Bringing Dignity, Safety, and Support Under One Roof

One-Stop Centre, also known as Sakhi, is a scheme under the Ministry of Women & Child Development (GOI). It was established on 1 April, 2015 to provide safety, rehabilitation, and support to the women who suffered any kind of injustice or violence of any nature, adhering to Article 15 of the Constitution of India.

The PESA Act, 1996, is legislation that attempts to raise tribal communities by promoting self-governance by means of Gram Sabhas and Panchayats in Schedule V districts. It is also referred to as "Constitution within the Constitution"; it seeks to blend tribal development while retaining their customary laws, culture, and traditional way of life.
