Water Distress and Indian Cities

Splintering urbanism is a reality that has roots in the neo-liberal paradigm of urbanisation, which started nearly three decades back in India. Cities have suffered from the fragmentation of access, control, and pricing of network infrastructure, including water supply. The fragmentation is due to political-economic processes-neoliberalism-that have changed the ways cities are governed and services provided.

India-Italy Ties and the Indo-Pacific

On March 2, Italian Prime Minister (PM) Giorgia Meloni inaugurated the Raisina Dialogue 2023, co-organized by the ministry of external affairs and the Observer Research Foundation. Earlier in the day, during her first official visit to Delhi, she held a bilateral meeting with PM Narendra Modi, and signed a series of bilateral agreements, elevating India-Italy relations to a strategic partnership.

Women: The Real Architect of our Society

According to the most recent report by the United Nations, "Women and girls comprise half of the world's population and, as a result, also half of its potential." As a result, the development of any nation is directly proportional to the development of the women and girls living in that nation. Women were valued by society in ancient Indian culture, and society at the time considered women to be Janani, which means mother and worshipped women as Devi, which means goddess.

In this essay, I argue that addressing situations of injustice necessitate a triad of Niti (a combination of laws, policies, procedures, the legal, and the administrative systems, and bureaucracy), Nyaya (substantive, distributive justice), and Niyat (which includes two components: one, the social, economic, and political will, commitment, or intention of those in power combined with the second, agency of pro-active citizens, and the role of civil society).
