The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) is the leading ministry in the infrastructural development of India. The Central Public Health and Environmental Engineering Organisation (CPHEEO), established under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India is the nodal technical organization responsible for policy, guidelines and standards related to urban water supply, sanitation and environmental engineering.
