Organized by the IMPRI Gender Impact Studies Center (GISC), the Plural Streams of Feminism program reflects IMPRI’s commitment to fostering critical dialogue on gender, justice, and social transformation. Through interactive learning and evidence-based engagement, IMPRI GISC provides a platform for scholars, practitioners, and young leaders to deepen their understanding of gendered realities and contemporary policy debates.

Feminism is a vibrant, evolving landscape shaped by diverse histories, social conditions, and political struggles. Plural Streams of Feminism explores this richness by tracing how different schools of feminist thought emerged in response to distinct forms of inequality and oppression. Each stream offers its own lens for understanding gender, power, identity, and social change, contributing unique insights into both personal experiences and structural realities.

This program delves into how these varied streams intersect, diverge, and continue to evolve in contemporary contexts. It highlights the transformative ideas, intellectual debates, and lived experiences that have expanded the boundaries of feminist theory and activism. By examining the multiplicity within feminism, the discussion encourages participants to embrace its layered narratives, challenge simplified understandings, and engage with a more inclusive and intersectional view of feminist thought.

This program is designed for:

• Students and learners interested in gender studies, social sciences, public policy, or development
• Researchers and academics exploring feminist theory or interdisciplinary perspectives
• Practitioners and early-career professionals working in governance, law, NGOs, or development sectors
• Activists, educators, and community workers engaged in gender justice and social transformation
• Anyone seeking a deeper, more nuanced understanding of the diverse trajectories within feminist thought

Participants would:

• Learn from globally and nationally renowned thematic experts and practitioners
• Gain first-hand insights and networking opportunities
• Get course outline and reading list from the experts for learning
• Get access to session videos for 15 days
• Receive a certificate of completion
• Have the opportunity to publish their essays on the IMPRI Insights Blog, which features the articles of eminent people from around the globe.
• In addition to this, participants will also have access to the carefully curated Event Outcome Report, highlighting the critically engaging deliberations of each session. It will be freely available to download at https://books.impriindia.com/. They can even access other Event Outcome Reports from the site.
• A participant list and their details will be added to the website.

Upon successful completion of the program, each participant will be awarded a Certificate of Completion.
