About

Building on the success of our first cohort, we are excited to present the second edition- “Impact Evaluation in Practice using R.” Organized by the Generation Alpha Data Center (GenAlphaDC) at IMPRI Impact and Policy Research Institute, New Delhi, this advanced course is designed to deepen your understanding of impact evaluation with a focus on practical application using the R programming language. Whether you’re a researcher, policymaker, or professional aiming to enhance your data analysis skills, this course will equip you with the knowledge and tools necessary to conduct rigorous impact evaluations.

Throughout this course, participants will explore key concepts and methodologies used in impact evaluation, including Regression Analysis, Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs), Panel Data Analysis, Difference in Difference (DiD), Regression Discontinuity, and Instrumental Variable (IV) Estimation. By the end of the course, you’ll have the skills to analyze complex datasets, interpret results accurately, and make evidence-based decisions that contribute to positive social and policy outcomes.

Our expert instructors will guide you through hands-on learning experiences, using real-world datasets to ensure that you gain practical, actionable insights. You’ll learn how to leverage R for data analysis, enabling you to measure the true impact of programs and interventions effectively.

Important Instructions: The first session of the course will be dedicated to downloading and setting up R Studio. Participants who are already familiar with R are encouraged to have it pre-downloaded before the session. Additionally, we will share a set of pre-readings in advance, which cover foundational concepts. We strongly encourage all participants to review these materials before the first session to maximize their learning experience.
