Union Budget 2024: Strategies to Foster a Healthy India by 2047

Budget 2024 expectations: India has shown remarkable progress in the field of health and nutrition. Presently, over 50 crore Indians benefit from the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), ensuring their access to healthcare. The country has established 1.73 lakh Ayushman Aarogya Mandirs (AAMs) to offer comprehensive primary healthcare services. Over the past decade, the number of medical education seats for both under- and post-graduate programmes has more than doubled. Moreover, the out-of-pocket health expenditure has decreased from 63% in 2014 to 39% in 2024.

Need to Protect the Constitution, Not Commemorate Its Demise

PM Modi’s Russia Visit Strengthens New Delhi-Moscow Relations

PM Modi’s just concluded two-day visit to Russia has not only bridged the annual summitry hiatus, but also reinforced the special and privileged strategic partnership

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on an official visit to Moscow from July 8-9 which happened to be his first bilateral one in the Modi 3.0 era.
 
This was also in the backdrop of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war and after a gap of nearly five years. His last visit was to Vladivostok in 2019 for the Far Eastern Economic Forum where he was invited as the Chief Guest given Russian focus for attracting greater strategic and economic engagement by India in the region. Several announcements and commitments were made.

International Day of Parliamentarism 30 June, 2024

Every year on June 30, Our world celebrates the International Day of Parliamentarism, also known as World Parliament Day. On this day in 1889, the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) was established by a small group of parliamentarians who believed that parliamentary dialogue and diplomacy are essential to settling differences rather than going on to war, 135 years later, nearly every country in the world has some form of parliament,  accounting to a total of 190 today.
