Support for Marginalized Individuals for Livelihood and Enterprise (SMILE) Scheme, 2022

Ministry launched the scheme SMILE- Support for Marginalized Individuals for Livelihood and Enterprise in February 2022. Under this umbrella scheme, members of the transgender community and persons engaged in the act of begging were targeted, with a focus on providing rehabilitation, medical facilities, education, safe housing, and skill development.

National Centre for Coastal Research (NCCR), 2018: Advancing India’s Coastal Governance and Science

In response to these types of needs, the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) established the National Centre for Coastal Research (NCCR) in 2018, which replaced the earlier Integrated Coastal and Marine Area Management (ICMAM) Project Directorate. NCCR provides a higher level of ambition and a larger remit; it is meant to provide long-term scientific knowledge into changes happening on India's coastline.

Central Public Health and Environmental Engineering Organisation (CPHEEO), 1966

The Central Public Health and Environmental Engineering Organisation (CPHEEO), established under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India is the nodal technical organization responsible for policy, guidelines and standards related to urban water supply, sanitation and environmental engineering. CPHEEO was set up in 1966 and continues to emphasize the importance of urban local bodies in the promotion of public health through improvements in water supply, sanitation and waste management.

One-Stop Centre (2015): Bringing Dignity, Safety, and Support Under One Roof

One-Stop Centre, also known as Sakhi, is a scheme under the Ministry of Women & Child Development (GOI). It was established on 1 April, 2015 to provide safety, rehabilitation, and support to the women who suffered any kind of injustice or violence of any nature, adhering to Article 15 of the Constitution of India. 

Strengthening Climate Services: A Policy Insight into Monsoon Mission II, 2012

Accurate prediction of monsoon rainfall is very crucial in a country like India, as it impacts many sectors like agriculture, water resources, power generation, transport, and even the Indian economy. Indian Summer Monsoon Rainfall (ISMR) amounts to more than 80 percent of the annual rainfall over India. It, hence, plays a significant role in the total food production of the country. Having prior knowledge of the variations in monsoon rainfall aids in preparing for droughts and floods and reduces the adverse impacts of the same.

Scheme for Economic Empowerment of De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (SEED),2022

As a step towards rectifying the historical injustices done to the De-notified, Nomadic, and Semi-Nomadic Tribes, the Scheme for Economic Empowerment of De-notified/Nomadic Tribes (SEED) was rolled out by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in 2022.

Information Technology and e-Governance (IT-eG), 2017

India’s push for “Digital India" in recent years created a fertile foundation for  departmental Information Technology (IT) programs. In fact , at the International e-Governance Conference ICEGOV-2017 the Union IT minister formally unveiled the ‘Digital India’ global road map, a sign of the times. Against this national push, the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) launched its own IT  and E-Governance (IT-eG) division in the department's mid Xth plan.
