Kanchan Gandhi has a PhD in Human Geography from the National University of Singapore. She completed her postdoctoral research in Urban Studies from IISER, Mohali. She has been working in the field of urban and gender studies for the last two decades and has published widely on these themes. She has worked at different think-tanks and NGOs as a researcher and taught urban and regional studies at different Universities across India. Presently she is engaged as a researcher evaluating the impacts of the Smart Cities Mission on the cities in Punjab. This project is funded by IRD, France.
