PRAGATI 52: Strengthening Digital Governance and Infrastructure Delivery

The Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation (PRAGATI) platform is an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) enabled governance initiative launched by the Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in March 2015. PRAGATI facilitates direct interaction between the Prime Minister, Union Government Ministries and State Governments to monitor major infrastructure projects, flagship government programmes and public grievance redressal. The platform seeks to enhance transparency, accountability and timely implementation of public policies while simultaneously strengthening federalism, all by integrating various levels of governance through real time communication and data sharing.

Academic Bank of Credits (ABC): National Education Policy (NEP) 2020

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 introduced the concept of an Academic Bank of Credits, a digital system where students could accumulate credits earned from accredited institutions and later use them for transfer, accumulation, or redemption for a degree, diploma, or certificate. The University Grants Commission acted on this promptly. In agreement with the Ministry of Education, it announced the ABC Regulations, 2021 in the Gazette of India on 28 July 2021, utilizing Section 26(1)(f) and (g) of the UGC Act, 1956. The initiative was publicly unveiled around the first anniversary of NEP 2020.

Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Telecom and Networking (2025)

The Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for Telecom and Networking Products was launched by the Ministry of Communications, Department of Telecommunications (DoT), on February 24, 2021, with an aggregate fiscal outlay of ₹12,195 crore over a five-year implementation horizon. The scheme provides financial incentives ranging from 4% to 7% on the net incremental sales of domestically manufactured telecom equipment over a baseline year. Historically, however, India operated as a heavy net importer of core network intelligence, running massive trade deficits with global manufacturing hubs such as China and the European Union.
