Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana (2021): India’s Integrated Policy for Elderly Care and Empowerment

While people are living longer than ever before due to improvements in life expectancy and health care delivery, such trends in aging raise multifaceted issues, including financial insecurity, social isolation, and the loss of family support as the structure of the joint family breaks down. In response, the Government of India launched the Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana (AVYAY) in April 2021, a revised National Action Plan for Senior Citizens. Implemented by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, AVYAY is an umbrella program aimed at protecting the health, dignity, and empowerment of the elderly.

Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra: India’s Premier Diaspora Engagement Hub

The Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra (PBK), currently called Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, is a pioneering institutional setup devised by the Government of India to enhance relations with the Indian diaspora across the globe. The Kendra is both a material expression of India's dedication to its diaspora and a platform of strategy for engaging the economic, social, and cultural resources of the estimated more than 28 million Indians living across the globe.

The PRAVASI BHARATIYA SAHAYATA KENDRA earlier known as the Overseas Workers Resource Centre (OWRC) serves as the Government of India’s primary mechanism for addressing the welfare and protection needs of overseas Indian communities, particularly migrant workers. Established to combat exploitation and streamline support systems, PBSK operates under the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) with a mandate rooted in emergency assistance, legal empowerment, and preventive diplomacy.

All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE), 2011: Data Governance in Academic Landscape in India

From 2011, the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, has launched the All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE), which has become a pillar of data governance in higher education. AISHE was envisaged with the objective of resolving the age-old gaps between systematic, genuine, and comprehensive data needed for strategic planning and policy-making in higher education.

National Panchayat Awards, 2023: Strengthening Grassroots Democracy in India

The National Panchayat Awards are a yearly initiative by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR). Government of India , to recognize and give praises and incentivize the outstanding capabilities and approach of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs). These awards aim to improve and encourage transparency, accountability, innovation and effective governance at the grassroots level which in turn will strengthen democracy.
