The Ministry of Earth and Sciences(MoEs), launched in 2006, filters multiple scientific disciplines under an umbrella approach, delivering coordinated services for weather, ocean, climate and any geophysical phenomena foreseen. The nation's weather and climate services are operationalised through agencies such as The National Center for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRWF), Indian Meteorological Department(IMD), and Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM).
