Government e-Procurement System (GePNIC)

The Government e-Procurement System of the National Informatics Centre (GePNIC) is one of India’s flagship digital governance projects under the National e-Governance Plan. Built by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, it was designed to replace cumbersome, paper-heavy procurement processes with a fully digital system. The goal was simple but ambitious : make government procurement faster, fairer, and more transparent.

NeGP: National e-Gov AppStore 2013

The e-Government Appstore, established under the  National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) and Digital India, is hosted by the National Informatics centre under MeitY.The platform allows contributing entities (government/private) to upload applications (subject to multi-stage approval), which can then be searched, reviewed, rated and either invoked as Saas or downloaded for deployment. It hosts core components such as payment gateways, messaging modules, and MIS reporting tools for cross- use across departments.

STARS: Scheme for Transformational and Advanced Research in Sciences

The Scheme for Transformational and Advanced Research in Sciences is an initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and the Department of Higher Education, established in February 2019.  It operates with the main aim of promoting translational, India-centric research in sciences, to be implemented and managed by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. The scheme functions to support socially relevant research in the following six basic thrust areas – Physics, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Nanosciences, Data Sciences & Mathematics, and Earth Sciences.

MeriPehchaan – National Single Sign-On (NSSO) – 2025

Tejas Portal (2021): Powering India’s Data-Driven Governance

Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), in partnership with the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and NIC Services Inc. (NICSI), developed an integrated self-service analytics platform named Tejas. Introduced in 2021, Tejas, which stands for "Technology Enabled Justified Analytics Solution", was developed under the Centre of Excellence for Data Analytics (CEDA) to provide high-powered, accessible, and scalable data visualisation and analysis features to Indian government departments.

Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyan (PMGDISHA), 2017

The Government of India introduced the "Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyan (PMGDISHA)" in 2017. This initiative focuses on boosting digital literacy in rural regions. Around 7. 35 crore people signed up for the program, with 6. 39 crore receiving training, leading to 4. 78 crore earning certification.
