Security and Growth for All in the Region, (SAGAR) 2015

SAGAR, stands for Strategic and Growth for all in the region, was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 12, 2015, during his address to the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA)  The initiative emerged from India's recognition of the strategic importance of the Indian Ocean Region to its national security and economic interests, as well as the need for a coordinated approach to addressing maritime challenges.

Aajeevika- National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), 2011

Back in June 2011, the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Government of India, launched the Aajeevika- Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana- National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM). It is one of the flagship programs to alleviate poverty, which aims to reduce poverty by enabling poor households to access gainful self-employment and skilled wage employment opportunities, resulting in sustainable and diversified livelihood options for the poor.

As part of this broader commitment, the Government of India launched Mission Shakti, a comprehensive initiative under the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD).

National Social Assistance Programme 1995: Ensuring Social Security for the Vulnerable

The Government of India established the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) on August 15, 1995, as a fully funded, centrally sponsored scheme to develop a national policy for social assistance for those living in poverty. To guarantee basic national standards for social assistance and the benefits that the states currently offer or may offer in the future, NSAP is administered by the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD). It also seeks to ensure that social protection for beneficiaries everywhere in the country is uniformly available.

The National Capital Region (NCR) is India’s largest polycentric urban centre, spanning Delhi and adjoining districts of Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh (about 55,083 sq km, ~60 million people​ The NCR Planning Board (NCRPB), a statutory body constituted under the National Capital Region Planning Board Act, 1985 is authorised with harmonising land use and infrastructure in this cross-state region​
