National Education Policy (NEP) 2020: Reshaping Indian Education for the 21st Century

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, is India’s first education of the 21st century. This replaced the National Policy on Education which was released in 1986. The NEP 2020 was released on 29 July 2020. This scheme aims to bring a transformation in the Indian education system into an inclusive, flexible, multidisciplinary, and holistic system. It envisions to create a “vibrant knowledge society” and establish India as a global knowledge superpower. 

Advancing Renewable Integration Through India’s Green Energy Corridor 2015

The concept of a Green Energy Corridor has emerged from a 2012 study by the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL); the study highlighted that the existing infrastructure is not capable of handling the anticipated surge in renewable energy. Following the study, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited submitted a detailed Green Energy Corridor report in September 2012. The report highlighted the need for a dedicated transmission infrastructure for large-scale solar and wind power plants. Green Energy Corridor as a project was implemented and formally started in 2015, with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) playing a central role in its planning and execution.

Centre for Excellence in AI for Education

The Centre of Excellence in AI for Education was announced in the  Annual Financial Statement (FY 2025-26)  with a budgetary allocation of ₹500 crores to transform the education landscape into AI-aided teaching, personalised education and skill development. Five National Centres for skilling in AI, robotics and cybersecurity shall be set up to address the requirements of the industry worldwide in curriculum designing, training of trainers, skill certification and periodic assessments in order to make the workforce of India globally competitive.

Impactful Policy Research in Social Sciences (IMPRESS) 2018 

To revolutionize India's policy research space in the true sense, IMPRESS has to move beyond being a selective academic grant program to being an inclusive national knowledge production machine. As a young researcher, I envision the future of policy innovation occurring in open, diverse, and democratized research environments, not in hierarchical constraints. Visualizing IMPRESS in this way will not only establish it as a funding program, but as a driving force for India's intellectual and socio-economic balance.
