National Social Assistance Programme 1995: Ensuring Social Security for the Vulnerable

The Government of India established the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) on August 15, 1995, as a fully funded, centrally sponsored scheme to develop a national policy for social assistance for those living in poverty.
