India’s Push for Indigenous Semiconductor Design through Design Linked Incentive (DLI) Scheme, 2021 

In consideration of its strategic importance, India launched its Semiconductor Mission (ISM) in December 2021 within the broader Semicon India Programme. With a budget allocation of more than ₹76,000 crore, this mission seeks to build a sustainable semiconductor design ecosystem within the nation. One of the key pillars of this is the Design Linked Incentive scheme, which is intended to promote indigenous capabilities, reduce import dependencies and make India technologically self sufficient.

National Knowledge Network, 2010:Backbone of India’s Digital Research Infrastructure

The National Knowledge Network (NKN) is a state-of-the-art, high-speed gigabit-class network infrastructure established to connect educational and research institutions across India. The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure (CCI) approved NKN in March 2010 with an outlay of Rs. 5,990 crores. NKN is implemented by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), and it was conceptualized as a 10-year project.

Strengthening Teaching-Learning and Results for States (STARS) Scheme,2021 for Education Reform in India Explained

STARS is a program to support reform to improve the quality and governance of school education in six states, namely, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, and Kerala. It became effective on 23rd February 2021 for a period of five years, ending in the financial year 2024-25. The total project cost is Rs. 5718 crore, with a loan from the World Bank of Rs. 3700 crore. It is a centrally sponsored scheme under the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education. The objective of the scheme is to improve education outcomes and school-to-work transition strategies for improved labour market outcomes, which is aligned with the objective of the National Education Policy 2020 of Quality-Based Learning Outcomes. The Program is carved out of Samagra Shiksha.
