The history surrounding the Indian Independence movement has undergone a transformation, progressing from initial colonial narratives to more sophisticated and comprehensive interpretations. It is crucial to shift away from the prevailing mainstream discourse around the movement, which mostly originates from a privileged caste viewpoint, and acknowledge the existence of several alternative voices.
On the 4th day of the educational session initiated by IMPRI, Professor Vibhuti Patel, a visiting professor at IMPRI, was the speaker and she enlightened us with her knowledge on the topic of gender mainstreaming of data, monitoring, and evaluation. She started the session by thanking everyone.

It draws attention to the consequences of the Criminal Tribes Act of 1871, which labelled the Hijras as a criminal tribe.
