Information Technology and e-Governance (IT-eG), 2017

India’s push for “Digital India" in recent years created a fertile foundation for  departmental Information Technology (IT) programs. In fact , at the International e-Governance Conference ICEGOV-2017 the Union IT minister formally unveiled the ‘Digital India’ global road map, a sign of the times. Against this national push, the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) launched its own IT  and E-Governance (IT-eG) division in the department's mid Xth plan.

Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana (2021): India’s Integrated Policy for Elderly Care and Empowerment

While people are living longer than ever before due to improvements in life expectancy and health care delivery, such trends in aging raise multifaceted issues, including financial insecurity, social isolation, and the loss of family support as the structure of the joint family breaks down. In response, the Government of India launched the Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana (AVYAY) in April 2021, a revised National Action Plan for Senior Citizens. Implemented by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, AVYAY is an umbrella program aimed at protecting the health, dignity, and empowerment of the elderly.

East Delhi Hub is conceptualized to be a new Transit Oriented Development (TOD) that imbibes the core values of a sustainable “Smart City”. This is the flagship project being designed with NBCC (India) Limited. NBCC aims to create integrated urban spaces with residential, working, and leisure spaces within walking distance of each other and public transport. It is aimed at improving self-sustainability, encouraging public transport and walking and optimising density.
