The Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme stands as the foundational cornerstone of the Government of India’s campaign to accelerate Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India). Launched in 2020 as a core pillar of the initial economic response strategy, the framework was conceptualized and shaped by NITI Aayog in close coordination with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) before individual sectors were handed over to their respective line ministries for implementation. Deployed with an initial comprehensive outlay of ₹1.91 lakh crore (over $26 billion), the overarching policy objective is to structurally scale up India’s industrial architecture, enhance export competitiveness, and integrate domestic manufacturers into global value chains (GVCs).

CoalSETU gives industrial users greater flexibility within the existing linkage system while retaining auction-based allocation. According to the Ministry of Coal, the window permits coal use for industrial purposes, washing and exports, while barring domestic resale and it also excludes coking coal coal is also excluded. E%e capped at 50 per cent of the linkage quantity.

Annual Indigenisation Plan (2024-25): Strengthening Indigenous Capability in the Indian Army

The Indian Army's indigenisation drive runs through the Army Design Bureau and the Directorate of Indigenisation, set up in 2016 as the Army's own interface with domestic industry, DRDO and academia. Each year, the Army identifies the equipment, spares and ammunition it still imports and draws up a plan to move that list onto Indian production, working through the Ministry of Defence's broader Positive Indigenisation Lists (PILs) and the SRIJAN portal, which together ban the import of a growing catalogue of items past fixed timelines. This yearly exercise is what the Army refers to as its Annual Indigenisation Plan.

On 6 August 2026, the Union Cabinet approved GOBARdhan, the National Circular Bioenergy Scheme, with an outlay of ₹23,731 crore for FY 2026-27 to FY 2035-36 (PIB, 2026). Under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) as Nodal agency. Its aim is a nearly ten-fold rise in domestic compressed biogas (CBG) production, large-scale private investment and a circular bioeconomy built on cattle dung, crop residue, press mud, municipal organic waste and other biomass.
