A Spatial Perspective on Unauthorised Colonies in Delhi.

Unauthorised colonies have grown throughout Delhi for many decades. An unauthorised  colony is defined as a settlement that has emerged without the necessary approvals concerning  the layout, land use, or building plan (MoHUA, 2019). As per the Government of Delhi, the  unauthorised colonies have been developing from the very beginning of the planned  development of Delhi. The large-scale migration and shortage of affordable housing  contributed to their development (Department of Urban Development, Government of NCT of  Delhi [UD Delhi], n.d.).

National Programme on Energy Storage (2021): Strengthening India’s Clean Energy Transition

India's power system is adding clean generation faster than it can store it. Installed generation capacity stood at 520.5 GW on 31 January 2026. The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) projects 1,121 GW by 2035-36, with non-fossil sources rising to about 70% of capacity from about 52% today (CEA, 2026).

Bharatmala Pariyojana: Strengthening India’s Road Connectivity and Logistics Network.

Bharatmala Pariyojana is a flagship highway development programme of the Government of India, launched in 2017 under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH). The programme was introduced in response to several structural gaps in India’s highway network. These included the inadequate optimisation of the National Highway network due to resource constraints and the absence of a comprehensive national plan, limited integrated planning for connecting major economic corridors and ports with their hinterlands, persistent congestion points even along developed corridors, and inadequate accident-response infrastructure (MoRTH, 2017).

National Single Window System(2021) : One-Stop Solution for Business Clearances by Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade

The National Single Window System (NSWS) was launched in September 2021 by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, as a digital platform to streamline business approvals and facilitate investment in India.  The initiative addresses the long-standing challenge of regulatory fragmentation, where businesses previously had to navigate multiple portals and departments to obtain the necessary clearances for establishing and operating enterprises.

One Stop Centres, 2024: Strengthening Support for Overseas NRI Women

The One Stop Centres (OSCs) for overseas NRI women were approved only in November 2024 and started being established from 2025. These centres represent an extension of India’s domestic One Stop Centre scheme (also known as Sakhi) to support Indian women facing distress abroad. The domestic OSC scheme was launched on 1 April 2015 by the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) under the Nirbhaya Fund to provide integrated, immediate support under one roof to women affected by violence in private or public spaces (Ministry of Women and Child Development, 2015; Press Information Bureau, 2024).

Air Pollution as a Blind Spot of Indian Industrial Policy

In 2011, manufacturing still accounted for just over 16% of India's GDP (Government of India, 2011). To reverse this trend, the government launched the National Manufacturing Policy (NMP), with two numerical targets for 2022, raising this share to 25% of GDP and creating 100 million jobs (Government of India, 2011).
