The State Science & Technology Programme (SS&TP), initiated by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) Government of India in 1971, aims to strengthen science, technology, and innovation (STI) capacity at the state level. Recognizing that states are vital units for decentralized development, the programme seeks to empower them to formulate and implement science and technology (S&T) plans tailored to their regional priorities.

Healing Bridges: Ayurveda and India-Thailand Wellness Diplomacy

India and Thailand have a long history of connections grounded in culture, spirituality, and trade, especially through Buddhism and traditional practices. Recently, these ties have evolved with the rise of wellness diplomacy, particularly in Ayurveda and yoga. For India, Ayurveda represents balance, prevention, and holistic healing. Thailand, known for its spas and medical tourism, has welcomed Ayurveda as a natural addition to its traditional healing practices. Together, both countries are blending heritage with modern wellness trends, addressing global interest in natural, preventive healthcare.

Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS-UDAN) (Launched 2016)

On October 21, 2016, the Government of India launched the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS), known as UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) under the National Civil Aviation Policy (NCAP), 2016.  The scheme was conceptualised with a 10-year vision to connect tier-2 and tier-3 cities. The objective was to simulate regional air connectivity by making flying accessible and affordable for all. It also focused on linking the smaller towns and remote areas to the national aviation grid.

India–Africa: Shared Post-Colonial Narratives in Art 

post-colonial quandary, while being a highly subjective experience for the countries obligated to encounter it, has specific connotations on identity formation and consequently on the art that is produced as a result of it. While it is important to contextualise the colonial circumstance with regard to religion, culture, and geography, it is also interesting to analyse shared predicaments arising from a common historical superstructure, which, in the case of India and Africa, is the British colonial one.

The Union Budget for 2025–2026 introduced the Nuclear Energy Mission under the Viksit Bharat program. This marks a crucial step toward diversifying India’s energy portfolio and strengthening its long-term energy resilience. At its core, the mission aims to significantly scale up the role of nuclear energy in the country’s energy mix, both to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and to provide a stable foundation for future growth.
